Biography

Bäst est le pseudonyme d’un artiste anonyme installé à Brooklyn et qui depuis le début des années 2000 s’immisce dans le paysage urbain avec ses collages caustiques & incisifs. Il s’approprie des images iconiques de la culture de masse du 20e et 21e siècle pour créer ses oeuvres mélangeant personnages de dessins animés, images de marques & publicités à caractère sexuel. Inspiré par l’iconographie punk, son travail porte un regard satirique sur notre société de consommation. Ses œuvres ont été exposées dans un grand nombre d’expositions collectives à travers le monde, notamment à Tokyo, Londres, Berlin et évidemment New York. Aujourd’hui sa reconnaissance en galerie est bien établie. En effet, au cours de la dernière décennie, Bast a présenté plusieurs expositions solos via certaines des plus importantes galeries en Art Contemporain.
